Yes, Over The Top does carry liability insurance.

How does the DJ dress for events?
Typically, our DJs wear tuxedos to wedding receptions.  The DJ will ask about dress attire for your event when pre-call is done.

Can we make a music list?
When you book us for DJ services, we set up a password for you on our website.  You can login and create a music request list.  If you have time, you can get very detailed with “Must Play”, “Play If Possible”, and “Do Not Play” lists.

What if I would like a song played that is not on your list?
Fill out the “Custom” section of the music request list or send us an email with the song(s) you do not see on the list.  If it is just a few songs, and we do not have them, we will attempt to get them for you.  If you are requesting several songs we do not have, we ask that you provide them by CD or IPOD.

Can I bring my own music?
You are welcome to bring any music that you would like to have played.

Do you take guests music requests?
We will ask the client when your pre-call is done if you would like to take guests requests or not.  We will go according to whatever you, the client, should decide.

Will my DJ contact me before my event?
Your DJ will contact you the week of your event to go over all the details from beginning to end.   If you have any questions before that time, you are welcome to call Over The Top’s office at (618) 345-4508 or email:

When is my planning sheet and music request list due?
Please have your information mailed or emailed approximately two weeks before your event.

When is my balance due?
Your balance is due two weeks before your event.  We accept cash, checks, money orders, and cashier’s checks.  All the above, except cash, can be mailed to:  1012 St. Clair Avenue, Collinsville, IL  62234.  If you need to make other arrangements for payment, please call Over The Top’s office.

Can I make partial payments ahead of time?
You are welcome to make partial payments ahead of time, as long as your complete balance is paid two weeks before your event.  When you make a partial payment or pay the full balance it will be marked on your contract, and a c-opy will be sent to you confirming that your payment was received.

Do I tip my DJ?
Tips are not expected, but if you feel your DJ has completely met your expectations, then a tip is greatly appreciated.
